Marisol: 39 years old, Latina, without an accent, smart and dignified, Marisol is a college-educated woman who has a secret agenda for finding work as a domestic in a certain very upper-class neighborhood. Her beloved son has recently been convicted of the murder of Flora Sanchez, and Marisol is INTENSELY interested in finding out what she can about Flora's death. Barely successful in gaining employment at the home of Michael and Taylor Slate (she almost flunks because she sounds too intelligent to be "the help"), Marisol soon worms her way into her target home, belonging to Adrian and Evelyn Powell -- the home where her son committed murder...
Rosie: 35 years old, Latina, with an accent (SPEAKS FLUENT SPANISH), sweet and sensitive, Rosie has one remarkable trait: her quiet strength. A single mother, Rosie left her son Miguel back in Mexico when her husband died, slipped into El Norte and now works as the housemaid/nanny for a pair of self-absorbed and successful actors. Zoila: 44 years old, Latina, without an accent, tough and sly, Zoila is the senior maid at the Delacourt household; her intelligence is matched only by her humor. Spence Davis: 42 years old, handsome and shallow, Spence is married to Peri, and he's the father of a 1 year old boy. A successful daytime drama actor who's won two Soap Opera Digest awards, Spence is quietly aware that his lovely, self-centered wife has every intention of going through motherhood without ever changing a diaper or spending time with her child, and he's inclined to try and cut Rosie (the over-burdened family maid/nanny) as much slack as possible..
Michael Slate: 53 years old, handsome, elegant and kind, Michael is a very wealthy man who just remarried after 20 years of a catastrophically destructive marriage to decorator Olivia Rice. Intent on having a peaceful life for a change, Michael wants a household that's drama-free, and he's apparently quite happy in his six-month-old marriage to Taylor. But Michael's troubles with his psychotic ex-wife aren't over, as she has a bad habit of showing up uninvited at his parties and making a spectacle of herself worthy of Norma Desmond...
Taylor Slate: 30 years old, beautiful and willful, she's the second wife of the very successful Michael Slate. Although she appears to be a trophy wife, she's classy and smart. Having only been married to Michael for six months, Taylor is profoundly insecure in her status -- especially since Michael's deranged first wife Olivia not only decorated the house, but also shows up from time to time to plead and whimper insanely to Michael. No matter how much common sense Marisol tries to inject into the household, Taylor is unable to place her modest state of suffering in any kind of perspective...
Xaviera: 30 years old, tough and aloof, Xaviera is a very successful recording star, a Cuban-American from Florida, and she has a staff of four: Jace, Sam, Carmen and Shiv. A self-absorbed woman who climbed the ladder of success without handing out a single favor, Xaviera is plagued by Aldo, a boyfriend who's a shameless junkie. A woman who's deeply interested in the future of Number One, Xaviera refuses to allow her staff to speak to her directly, and her annoying situation with Aldo is handled decisively when he overdoses on what appears to be cocaine...
Series Regular for all those characters. Do not forget, we will know on May 15 if ABC will pick up Devious Maids, and we will also know if ABC picks it when the Show will be brodacasted. September 2012 - May 2013 or February-May 2013.
